Grahn

Dr. Frida Grahn is an architectural historian and postdoctoral researcher specialising in postmodern discourse, feminist historiography, and the transnational circulation of architectural ideas. She holds a PhD from the Accademia di architettura, Università della Svizzera italiana, Mendrisio (summa cum laude), and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the gta Institute, ETH Zürich. Her work examines how architecture is shaped and transmitted through media, exhibitions, and education—with particular attention to questions of authorship, gender, and cultural translation.

Her edited volume Denise Scott Brown: In Other Eyes—Portraits of an Architect (Birkhäuser, 2022) brought together leading scholars and practitioners to reassess one of architecture's most consequential yet underacknowledged figures, inspiring a dedicated symposium at Yale School of Architecture in 2023. Most recently, she co-curated Tendenzen at 50: Portrait of an Exhibition at the gta Institute (2026), revisiting a landmark of Swiss architectural culture half a century on. She has presented her research at the Society of Architectural Historians and the European Architectural History Network, and her articles have appeared in the Architectural Theory Review and other publications.
